I want to highlight some of my favorite discussion points, because they were just that GOOD.
1. We are always on a path to discovery. In fact, the journey to self-discovery never ends. All roads in your life will lead to a greater understanding of who you are (your unique light) and how you create (how you express it). The purpose of your life is not to learn, but to create. Yes, you will of course learn, but the PURPOSE is to create. We are here on purpose, for a purpose and that purpose is creating.
2. My definition of a soul is an individuated aspect of God. The moment that God has an “I wonder” thought, souls are formed to experience that thought from every perspective. Each experience we have evolves God.
3. We are not all dealt the same deck of cards! No one person has all 52 cards and we must use our unique hand to plan the game. It takes skill to play the life game, and each of our skills are unique. Discover YOUR cards, discover YOUR divine gifts and how you express them to the world.
4. With Divination tools and accessing your Higher Guidance, your answers are as good as your questions are. Let Higher Guidance take the lead and don’t force a question.
5. We really don’t want a life of ease. We are here to create and work for it. We are up for the challenge and success will feel that much better through the challenges.

The vast majority of people believe in angels or a divine source of assistance. Enthusiasts often reveal dramatic stories of divine assistance that have clearly affected them at a deep level. One such story I heard recently brings tears to my eyes every time I think of it.
A mother and her son
A mother recounted how she and her two-year-old son were admiring a parked fire truck. They crossed the street to go about their business, and then the unthinkable happened. The mother turned and saw her son running back across the street toward the fire truck and a car barreling down upon him. The impending accident was certain. It was an endless moment of anguish, panic, and pain that no mother ever wants to experience.
“Please God, NO!” was her only thought. Simultaneously with that thought, she saw an angel swoop down and catapult her son back into her arms with such force that they both fell backward. They held onto each other, crying with utter emotional relief as the full impact of what had happened came to their awareness.
Later that night when she was tucking her son in bed, her son said, “Mommy, did you see me fly!”
Stories of divine assistance
Spectacular stories such as this one warm our hearts and inspire our faith in miracles. However we have come to believe that the powers of the Universe are reserved for breathtaking rescues and other deeds of heroic proportion. What about smaller, less dramatic needs? Can the powers of the heavens be called upon to support us in mundane matters of ordinary life?
Open your eyes and you will see evidence on a less-sensational scale of daily occurrences that are every bit as miraculous. You do have access to the creative power of the celestial realms—a gift given to you by the heavens, and one you are expected to use with great joy for the highest good of all. You must first realize that you are an integral part of the divine plan of creation, not a bystander but in fact director of the grand drama of life on this Earthly plain. You can quite literally “employ” divine assistance to make your every wish a reality and invite miracles in even the small endeavors of your life.
A simple way to shift your perception of the spiritual world is to imagine a vast resource pool of eager specialists with every skill and talent needed to aid us in all aspects of our lives. Imagine an angel adept at accounting, or proficient at sales, or gifted in diplomacy. Imagine that an entire staff stands ready to support you in small issues such as arranging chance meetings, finding lost items, and bringing new insights. Whether you believe it is help from the angels, from your higher-self, or simply the power of thought, you can ease the struggle in your everyday life by tapping into this incredible Universal power.
Enlisting divine assistance
Last month, my friend Rachel called me, overflowing with excitement about her most recent experience with enlisting celestial assistance. Her twelve-year-old son, Logan, had to do a school report on football star Joe Montana. He had been frustrated finding resource books at the school library, so Rachel drove him to their local branch library. Rachel sat in the car with her younger daughter while Logan spent about an hour in the library. He returned to the car empty-handed and discouraged, having discovered that all of the Joe Montana books had already been checked out.
Rachel told him not to worry and suggested that he go back into the library and look around one more time. As he walked away, she closed her eyes and asked for an angelic homework assistant to help him find exactly what he was looking for. Just a couple of minutes later, she and her daughter walked into the library to see how he was doing. She saw her son standing in the check-out line, holding a wonderful oversized picture book with the title Montana across the top.
“That’s perfect!” she beamed. “How did you find it so quickly?”
He whispered, “You won’t believe this, Mom,” and then took her over to the side. He spoke as if he was a little spooked, recounting how he had returned to the sports section of the library when suddenly a thought appeared in his mind: “Maybe a book fell behind the shelves.” Something then compelled him to stick his head right into a space in the racks and look down.
He continued, “I saw the edge of a book, so I reached down and pulled this up!”
Logan was completely incredulous, but Rachel was certain it was due to divine assistance.
But what she told me next was so outrageous that I could hardly believe it myself: When Logan went to check out the book, the librarian at the counter told him that this book wasn’t even in the library’s computer system! It appears the spiritual homework assistant had placed the perfect book there for him, simply for the taking. Now that’s magic!

“Now where did I leave my keys?” Sara spoke out loud to no one as she dumped her purse out on the table, hoping her car keys would appear from beneath the cosmetics and other various items. “I could have sworn I had them when I walked in.” Sara could not afford a delay; after all, it was her first day at a new job.
She had already been up by 6 a.m. to get her two children off to school. A single mom, Sara was managing the best she could, but it seemed like everything was such a struggle. Becoming frantic, she searched through her coat pockets and scanned the entryway table where she was likely to drop them. Nothing. Desperately, she cried out, “God! Where did I leave my keys?” In the very next moment she had her answer as she turned and stepped squarely upon them.
Coincidence or something else?
We’ve all experienced that kind of coincidence. For the most part, we give little thought as to how it happens, and we dismiss it with no further significance attached. What if it is more than mere coincidence? What if it is the power of synchronicity, the power of grace, even the power of…miracles? What if Sara unwittingly tapped into a very real source of invisible assistance that is available to us all if we only knew we could ask?
Many religions tell us that God is within. Daytime talk shows remind us to connect with Spirit. Dozens of best-selling authors encourage us to access our divine guidance. But how many of us really feel confident that we can call forth the infinite power of the Heavens—that it’s ours for the asking, and that it can be put to use right down here on Earth, even for such trivial problems as finding our car keys? Yet that’s what everyday miracles are all about.
We’ve kept God and the power of the Heavens at arm’s length. Somehow we have it in our minds that when it comes to daily life, we have been left to make or break it on our own. We reserve our prayers for the big-ticket items such as world peace or the healing of a loved one, but we feel selfish and presumptuous to solicit divine assistance for mundane human problems such as paying bills, meeting deadlines, or locating lost car keys.
Is it possible we have it all backwards? Actually divine connection is the most appropriate in the ordinary struggles of everyday life! Believe it or not, our angels and all of the spiritual realm want to be included in every aspect of our lives. They want us to call upon them. They are eager for us to know that their loving energy is available to us anytime, anywhere, in any situation (however trivial we may think it is). They love showing us miracles are possible.
Heavenly help is an unconditional gift offered to us by God, with every expectation that we will “employ” it to the fullest. In fact, the Universe is counting on us to put our celestial support staff to work, for it is through each of us that God both experiences and creates. Our Maker wants us to succeed, to fulfill our unique spiritual purpose, and to discover and co-create the life of our dreams. Tapping into everyday miracles is our God-given right.
Access to miracles
If we truly have access to miracles through the most powerful workforce in the Universe, then why do we feel so alone? Because no one told us we could ask. No one told us how easy it could be.
Many years ago, I had a shift in perception that changed the way I viewed the cooperative effort of the nonphysical and the physical on our behalf. It has changed my life dramatically, bringing me incredible synchronicities far beyond mathematical probabilities.
This shift was a new awareness that the spiritual world is every bit as diverse as our own physical world. I came to understand that the celestial realm possesses every skill, characteristic, interest, style, ability, and talent that we humans do. I simply pictured an entire celestial workforce that could fulfill every position possible in the most expansive yellow pages imaginable.
I envisioned that the vastness of the Heavens was standing ready to assist me in the creation of my world and that all these spiritual experts and specialists were available to me for “hire.” I employed my spiritual workforce in every aspect of my life, letting their powers of serendipity iron out the struggles, and create miracles.
This simple concept brings the powers of the Heavens down to Earth and makes it easy for us to have a personal relationship with the divine as never before. The idea is easy for our minds to grasp, since we are familiar with the hiring of specialists in daily life. By expanding this concept to the spiritual realm, you can invite serendipity, synchronicity, and everyday miracles on purpose.
A lost wedding band
What happened to my brother Norm is a perfect example. The story began to unfold one Wednesday afternoon, when Norm removed his wedding band and placed it in his pocket while he worked in the yard pruning bushes. Later that evening he drove to the pizza parlor, and as he took his money out of his pocket he felt something hit his shoe and heard a clinking sound. He took a quick look around but thought nothing of it until he arrived back at the house when, of course, he realized his wedding band had fallen out.
Norm rushed back to the pizza parlor but had no success finding the missing wedding band. Frantically he asked all the employees to search as well, to no avail. For the next two mornings he returned to search, leaving notes for the cleanup crew. Still no luck. He continued to scour his truck, home, and yard, thinking maybe he had dropped the ring somewhere other than at the pizza parlor.
By Friday afternoon his heart was heavy, and he knew that the chances of ever finding his ring were slim now. But then he remembered my telling him of several rather unbelievable stories about long-lost items that had magically appeared once people “hired” Heavenly helpers, just like a miracle.
Rather skeptical, but with nothing to lose, he pictured an expert spiritual jewelry sleuth standing ready to be dispatched on his behalf who would be able to locate his ring and bring it to him. Norm asked right out loud for this angelic assistance, all the while feeling a bit silly. He couldn’t imagine how the powers of the Universe could be interested or concerned about his small dilemma.
The power of asking
But the very next morning he experienced the incredible power of his asking. You see, there is one place my brother is sure to look each morning as he steps into his truck. It is a bare spot of dirt amid the landscaping, purposely left blank so that he has somewhere to place his foot. Shockingly, sitting on top of the dirt, was his wedding band!
Stunned, Norm tried to piece things together…Could the ring possibly have been there for three days without him noticing it? Maybe. He had stepped in and out of his truck at least a half-dozen times since Wednesday, each time looking directly at the small dirt platform. How could he have both missed seeing the ring and avoided even partially burying it in the dirt? There didn’t seem to be a rational explanation other than the intervention of some very special divine forces. An everyday miracle.
Why is this so hard to believe? Accessing the invisible skills of the Universe seems so far-fetched in our “I gotta see it to believe it” world. Yet I invite you to consider that many of the little coincidences we all experience are actually arranged from a limitless and ever-creative Source that has been responsible for the manifestation of our physical world since the beginning of time.
The best news is that you can begin to cultivate the frequency of these miraculous synchronicities simply by asking through my “hiring” concept. You may feel tentative at first, but soon you’ll have no doubt that an extraordinary and loving resource is there to support you every step of the way.
Countless miracles!
I have heard dozens of stories of this divine power in action that are so incredible they give me chills. Although I enjoy a jaw-dropping testimonial as much as anyone, the true essence of my message is much more subtle and comforting than all of the sensationalism. Ancient Vedic wisdom sums it up by saying there are just two symptoms of enlightenment: we find ourselves worrying less and less…and we encounter meaningful coincidences of our asking more and more.
A gentleman named Gary understood this well when he described to me how everything in his life had changed since he had begun hiring his own angelic helpers a year earlier. Anticipating another enthusiastic account of miraculous proportion, I asked him if he could expound. He looked down pensively, almost as if he were stumped.
With a little tilt of his head, he told me that he could think of no particularly intriguing tale to share. “It’s just all the little things. I experience so many coincidences and synchronicities these days that my whole perspective on life feels different. The best way to say it is that the struggle is gone and there is so much more joy. I never worry about anything anymore…it’s like I know everything is taken care of for me.”
That’s what everyday miracles are really all about.

The very essence of individual experience begins with dreaming about something beyond what we have; something beyond our immediate reach. We all have dreams. It starts at a very young age, maybe even before we are conscious about it, but eventually we know there are dreams.
I can remember daydreaming often as a child. I had a favorite big rock in our pasture where I would lay and watch the clouds go by as the delicious warm summer rays of sun tickled my face. I would spend hours lost in daydreaming. Dreaming of the man I would someday meet to sweep me off my feet. Dreaming of the life I would lead of travel and adventure. Dreaming of the home I would create.
Dreaming is second nature to all of us.
It’s deep within our soul and is ever-present. We would not have created anything without dreaming of it first. Sometimes as we grow older we mistakenly fall into the trap of feeling guilty about dreaming as if there is something immature or selfish about it. We are told to put aside our childhood fantasies. We may even believe that it is better not to dream lest we be disappointed.
To the contrary if we set aside our dreaming we stop growing. Any accomplishment of mankind, big or small, began with dreaming. We can call them something more mature; goals, aspirations, desires, visions. Regardless of the name, they are still all dreams inspired by our need to reach beyond ourselves.
How do dreams become reality versus fantasy?
Every one of us has indulged in dreaming that we know will turn out to be nothing more than wishful thinking. But even though we are aware it is fantasy it is still fun to think of the what if’s. What if I found a million dollars? What if I was given the keys to that big mansion? What if I became the president of the company? It’s great entertainment to explore daydreams in your head.
Likewise we have all had the experience of believing in a goal so firmly that nothing would stand in the way. We knew that fulfillment was only a matter of time. Whatever dreams we have they either turn into fantasy or turn into reality. What determines this? How can we get what we want?
I remember going through a phase in my thirty’s of adopting the dreams that would create a certain social status and being mesmerized by how things were “supposed” to look. The big house, the nice car, the clothes were all part of the program. The movement at that time was to replace your dreams with a pre-formulated template and approach.
I noticed an interesting shift in my attitude at that time. Everything became goal oriented and routine activities were under scrutiny to remove any frivolous aspect. You scheduled parties with friends for the goal of unwinding. You scheduled evenings with your mate for the goal of spending quality time. Exercise was only done on a schedule for the precise goal of getting your heart rate up to eighty percent of maximum.
Measurable goals, that’s what we wanted and it was fun for a while but at some point I realized we can become so distracted by programmed aspirations that we can get caught in the proverbial rat race and lose touch with our dreams, frivolous or not.
Enter the mid-40’s
Another shift occurred as I entered my forties and my dreams took on a deeper origination, that of the soul. It became clear to me that we are on a journey with an express purpose, a meaning, that begs to be explored and that many of our dreams are actually a calling from our soul.
We long to find purpose but purpose can only be found deep within ourselves. At various times throughout our lives we hear the inner stirring urging us to go within and find out what our soul is asking for. It may be at mundane moments such as washing dishes or commuting to work, or during profound life-changing experiences but inevitably the calling of our soul comes forth.
It all begins with dreaming
Whether we are merely entertaining ourselves with wishful thinking or answering a call from our soul it all begins with dreaming. Through our imagination there is no boundary that can’t be explored. Lift off any dream restrictions you may have and take the time to ask yourself some very important questions. What do you long for? What makes you happy? What makes your heart sing? What will it take to make your life more joyful?
Fulfillment of your dreams is a natural process. Understanding this process and making it part of your everyday life is easier than you think. You’ll be amazed as your dreams come into focus with laser-like precision and life takes on a whole new perspective. You may find that dreaming will once again be a favorite pastime and in fact, essential to your growth.

It was my 63rd birthday and I was at a spiritual retreat with my “goddess gathering” group. On the first night I asked everyone what they needed to do to bring in more joy. One by one we went around the room giving our answers.
I was the last to go. I had not pre-thought what I was going to say but out of my mouth popped “diversify.” As soon as I said it, I wondered where did that come from and what did it mean. I offered no other explanation to the group because I was unsure of what to say.
The next day I was determined to receive clarification so I asked my Angel Committee (read my book Hiring the Heavens to understand what that means) to guide me to an explanation. There were a number of oracle card decks on the countertop. I was guided to one in particular, shuffled the deck, laid the cards out unceremoniously and quickly picked a card.
I turned the card over and its title was “Diversify!”
Then my Angel Committee explained that I had been singularly focused for too long on creating my spiritual work that I needed to diversify by bringing in activities that had nothing to do with business and my work as a spiritual teacher.
When the angels tell you to do something, you do it. Immediately upon arriving home I started playing pickleball at a local park, joined a health club and took Zumba classes, accepted more luncheon invitations from my ladies group, and began artistic painting again.
I had painted in my younger years for family and friends but then life became all too busy with four children and a business. My art supplies had been abandoned in a shed for almost 30 years. The paint tube tops were impossible to unscrew and most had to be tossed.
I bought all new supplies and began exploring a technique called fluid art with acrylics. I was fascinated. I watched hours and hours of video instruction and began exploring my own process which I call Creative Mystic Art.
What I love about this technique is that it is organic.
It is very much like life. Messy, unpredictable, and magical.
I loved it so much I took over the garage space to create my art studio. To me, every creation is a spiritual experience and I am totally mesmerized watching the unfolding of the colors and movement.

Time to experience the purpose in your relationship
Did you know that your relationships have a purpose and they don’t happen “by accident?” And I mean ALL your relationships, not just romantic. Your friends, co-workers and yes, even your family members do not happen by accident!
Pick a relationship and lets have some fun
Here’s a simple spiritual exercise that can give you insight into the purpose of your relationship and why you are being drawn together. I did this a few years ago and was amazed at how succinctly the primary focus of my marriage was highlighted. To exemplify this exercise, I will be speaking about romantic relationships but you really can do it with any.
What you’ll need:
Tarot deck or Angel Oracle deck
Journal to take notes
An inquisitive mind and an openness to the fun spiritual exercise process
Couples are attracted to each other in a large part by the energy they put off. It’s as if our soul is an incredibly complex software program and included in this software is all the information about us — past, present and even where our intentions will take us in the future. On an unconscious level we are attracted to our mate because he or she completes this intention of our soul. There is purpose that will be fulfilled by your togetherness. So are you ready to find out the purpose in your relationship? Let’s begin!
Spiritual exercise instructions
To find out what that purpose is you’ll need a Tarot deck or angel oracle. (You can find out more about using this method by visiting my blog)
Shuffle the cards a few times and focus on the question, “What is the primary purpose my mate is in my life?”
Now, spread the cards on a table face down and with no ceremony whatsoever, pick a card. Don’t think about the “right” card to pick; just let your guidance direct you. It’s actually best to do this fast so that your conscious mind has no time to think.
After you have drawn your card, look up the meaning in the corresponding book for the deck.
Take as much time as you need to think about your answer. How does it feel reading the meaning of the card? Does it resonate with you? Is there a certain sentence or phrase that stands out to you?
Next shuffle the deck again and focus on the next question; “What is the primary purpose I am in my mate’s life?”
Spread the cards and repeat the process.
You will be as amazed as I was of the clarity behind the answers. This will bring about a whole new appreciation for your partner as you recognize and honor your soul’s purpose for being together.

Unlimited creative potential
All I wanted was the truth. What I got however, was a massive dose of deception. And so did you for that matter. We’ve all been duped into believing that we are separate from God, which has got to be one of the all-time greatest spiritual challenges that we have ever faced. (God being just one of many words used to describe the source of unlimited creative potential of which we are a part of and couldn’t be separated from even if we wanted to be.)
Truth is we are multi-dimensional beings with an unquenchable thirst for adventure. (Spiritual amnesia…who’s idea was that?)
Now, as much as I believe that we all have what it takes to become a fully enlightened master like Jesus or Buddha, the odds of that happening for me in the lifetime are pretty slim. What IS possible however, is to communicate with our Higher Self and learn how to interpret and utilize the information and guidance we receive in order to enhance our earthly experience.
You have the answer
In this way we become our very own personal psychic, yet there is much more to it than that. Asking, “What does my future hold?” can only be answered by you. After all, who knows you better than you?
When I want to know the truth about something, I always go directly to the source – the part of me that’s holding all the cards, so to speak. At times the guidance comes in bits and dribbles in the form of insights, intuition, and synchronicities, while at other times the guidance seems more like a command that I am given to follow.
Once when I was confused about which direction my career should take, I had a dream that specifically told me the name of a man that I needed to ask for a job. Although I wasn’t sure what kind of job I was supposed to ask him for and I was scared to put myself out there like that, I did it anyway and was hired on the spot.
Higher Guidance connection
Establishing a connection to my higher guidance has certainly been a labor of love. Here are a few disciplines that have worked for me:
· Surrender to a higher power/intelligence (of which I am a part of).
· Accept ‘what is’ without trying to manipulate, control, or judge. Affirm that I am exactly where I need to be (or I would be someplace else).
· Ask for what I want and remain unattached to the outcome. If I am unclear about what to ask for, “Telling me what I need to know” works just as well.
· Become self-centered. Mind my own business. Build integrity; say yes when I mean yes and have the courage to say no when I mean no.
· Create sacred space. Let go of people, places, and things that drain energy. De-clutter my home, my car, my mind. Refuse to own a television set.
· Engage the senses. Pay attention to dreams. Acknowledge synchronicities. Follow your inner leader.
· Cultivate an attitude of gratitude…for everything! Spirit loves to be acknowledged.
Relying on higher guidance has become a way of life for me; it’s about me learning to trust me and knowing what is for my highest and best good. And, when I feel concerned about my future in this ever-increasing chaotic world, I affirm that I will be guided to exactly where I need to be.
And so will you.

Spiritual enlightenment – a fancy term with a simple meaning
As you can see – spiritual enlightenment can mean so many things; ranging from the most minute moments to the biggest. Your Higher Guidance is there for you, to guide you but also to cheer you on, even when you have no idea what you’re doing.
Trust that there is a purpose and as Lois said, surrender. Whether you realize it or not, you designed this life for yourself.

Ah, the power of thought. Whether you realize it or not, what you think does make a difference on how you live. The mind is extremely powerful. It shapes our every moment and how we view the world. And yet, it’s not always obvious at first. The changes are subtle and woven into our lives. Each decision we make or passing thought have a downstream effect. We often can’t discern on a daily basis the effect our thoughts have.
Knowing that each thought counts, why not ensure they are working for you, not against you.
Change the way you think
What thoughts are you telling yourself? Are you being kind and encouraging? Are you motivating yourself in a way that would inspire another? For many of us, the answer is no. I, for one, have found myself doing the exact opposite. Oftentimes we are our own worst critics.
Challenge yourself today by changing the way you think. Pay attention to how to speak to yourself and about your life. If you are speaking to yourself negatively, start to shift those thoughts towards a kind or positive phrase instead. Just wait and see how the power of thought begins to take effect.
Don’t forget to write out your thoughts, feelings and impressions as you begin to shift your thinking. As these changes might seem subtle at first, looking back can reveal just how powerful it is!
6 ways to use the power of thought today
Look in the mirror and say, “I am beautiful”
Write out 10 things that you are grateful for
Tell yourself your favorite attributes
Each time you have a negative thought, follow it up with something positive
Set a goal and visualize how you are going to achieve it
Write out an affirmation such as, “I am powerful. What I say matters and I choose to love myself for who I am.” Now post it on a mirror or on the fridge and repeat it daily.
5 journaling prompts to explore the power of thought
How can I improve my inner dialogue?
Would I talk to others the way I talk to myself?
If I accepted myself as I am now, how would my life change?
What can I do today that will make me feel accomplished?
When was the last time I took a moment to be grateful for all that I am?
Small changes compound
These small changes may not seem that impactful now, but over time, pay attention to the direction your life is going. And then pay attention to your thoughts. I think you’ll find a surprising correlation between the two.
