    Did you Know You’re In a Very Strong Bargaining Position?

    Your Light is unique and there is no one else that can express that Light. Therefore, you are in a very strong bargaining position. As I’ve said before (see the picture below), God knows itself by experiencing life through us. What most of us don’t know (or don’t remember) is that God needs us as much as we need God. It’s a two-way street.  The universe needs you to express your Light and you feel it as an inner “calling”.

    God Created Us and We Create God

    Really understanding how you are needed by the universe may require letting go of some deeply conditioned thinking about your role in the cosmos.

    Popular traditions promote the idea that we must submit ourselves to God’s will. It is not uncommon for people to say they felt “called” to a profession or service and they feel intuitively they are fulfilling the will of a higher power. Unfortunately surrendering to this will often gets translated into “I must obey the will of God to the exclusion of my own”.

    I have seen the result of this thinking when I have met people that are fulfilling their inner calling by, for example, starting a business or moving to another location or some such endeavor and then have tried to answer that call with a devotion that is beyond reasonable. They have run themselves ragged and gotten horribly out of balance even to the point that they can no longer continue.

    Negotiate Your Contract

    If you were interviewing for a high-ranking position at a major corporation, you would never think of saying an off-hand “yes” to whatever they offered you. You would enter confidently and powerfully into negotiation to define your salary, responsibilities, vacation packages, hours, promotional opportunities, and much more. Your potential employer would do the same, evaluating your skills, background, and how valuable they believe you would be to their organization.

    Most of us don’t realize that the universe operates in much the same way. Just because you feel “called” to a certain task or opportunity doesn’t mean that you don’t also have the opportunity to engage your will and negotiate your contract.

    How do you know if your contract has been accepted? You’ll know because as you go along with your life and you’ll notice that things flow that way. The universe confirms that your terms have been accepted. If you don’t find yourself in flow then renegotiate your contract. Perhaps you wanted to work only 20 hours a week on a project and it’s requiring 30 hours. You could renegotiate to receive more monetary compensation for the extra hours, or maybe additional vacation time to make up for them.

    Be bold and ask for what you want. Remember that God needs you in order to know itself. You’re the most qualified for the job of being you which means you’re in a great position to negotiate and get what you want. Then write out exactly what your terms are for accepting the position; articulate all the things that you most want just as if you were walking into a corporate office to negotiate an executive employment contract.

    Your Character-Self

    How did you get here? I mean, really. How is it possible that you showed up in human form with this thing called personality and an implausible consciousness and, even more astounding, an awareness?

    Although this is a mystery that has prevailed forever, my Guidance has boiled it down to the most simplistic of terms.

    It starts with God
    Who then creates a Soul
    Who then creates a character-self.

    Let me explain. Our God Creator, an infinite being with no beginning or end, has zillions of ideas that it would like to experience and explore. The moment our God Creator has an “I wonder…” thought, numerous aspects of God are created to explore that thought.  Not just in one lifetime either, but in infinite lifetimes from every different perspective and timeframe.  This aspect of God is called your Soul.

    This scenario goes on for eons of time, in every conceivable situation and context.  The possibilities of what God can experience through the Soul are endless.

    The Creation of the Character-Self

    Each Soul then creates a character-self or multiple character-selves to explore the “I wonder….” thought for this earth dimension. The Soul creates the character-self and designates a personality and life purpose for it. The character-self is like the character assignment in the production of a movie.  It is the person and role you will play designed specifically for the experience. The character-self is the individual human in earth terms.

    My character-self is Jean Slatter – I have been “assigned” this role by my Soul to explore an “I wonder…” thought of God. I am the character-self creation of my Soul.

    Who you truly are is more than the character-self of the person you donned here on the earth plane. Ultimately we are all One but we are acting out individuality for the sake of an experience.

    As your Soul explores the thought form from your human character-self you will bring unique qualities of your Soul to the table. In fact, you cannot help but do that because you are creation of your Soul and you are vibrating as the Light of your Soul. Your experience is reflected back to God through your unique facets of Light of which you were made.

    Your Soul Group

    You, as your character-self, are not alone in exploring this “I wonder…” thought, by the way.  Many Souls create multiple character-selves to experience simultaneously from different perspectives. Not only that, but Souls themselves also related in much the same way as humans are related in a family. Have you noticed that sometimes you just have a “soul connection” to another person? Quite literally you do!

    Most of your family and many of your close friends will be soul related in some way. They will be your Soul group. You might say they are your study group, your lab partners as you are exploring various aspects of the same thought form and experiment/experience on this earth plane.

    As I said before, this scenario goes on for eons of time and in multiple dimensions, in every conceivable situation and context.  Each character-self that the Soul creates remains connected through the Soul. It is the Soul that is the keeper of experiential memories; for example, when we have remembrances of past lives it is actually a connection to our Soul that is providing a glimpse into another character-self. Also, it is the Soul that serves as the connecting point for the Soul Group. Whenever you have a “déjà-vu” moment or synergistic moment with someone else it is actually a connection through your Soul.

    The Body of God

    Quantum physicists are proving that we live in a holographic universe. Let’s use the analogy of a human body and notice that within the body are individuated cells much the same as individuated aspects of God in the body of reality. Even though each human cell contains the code of the entire human body, the cell has been limited or “assigned” to carry out a certain function such as being a liver cell or a skin cell. Each cell in our human body is contributing to the whole. In the same way, each component and Soul of this reality is contributing to the whole of God.

    Similarly to a group of body cells working together to be a liver or brain or skin, your Soul group works together in this reality to explore an “I wonder….” thought of the Creator’s.

    Born out of wonderment

    You were born out of wonderment. When God Creator desires to know the experience of being a tribal leader, for example, God has the power to create everything necessary to experience this. An entire “stage”, so to speak, is created with the complete consciousness to play out that thought.  The Creator of the thought now becomes the tribal leader and as well as every other player in the experience. Whatever the mind of God can conceive of is being played out in consciousness.  The life we know here on earth is just that – an experiential thought in action.  It is amazing to know that we are born out of wonderment.

    Your Soul’s Gift of Light

    Your Soul is imbued with unique characteristics of God, of God’s Light. The fact is, there is no one else who can shine the Light of your Soul exactly the way that you do. Just like the sun, the rays of light emanate from the same powerful source but they are unique rays, nonetheless. If your “ray” is missing, then the full spectrum of light isn’t manifest.

    Think for a moment about what your personal core Light essence is – what are the specials gifts that you have and that you are? The words that you come up with will be describing your Soul’s Light. Identifying this unique expression of your Soul’s Light energy is one of the most comforting and empowering realizations that you will ever have in your life because it will help you to know what you’re here to do.

    Being and Doing

    To discover the answer to why you are here and what your purpose is, you must first realize your unique gifts of spirit or in other words, your “Being and Doing” aspect of Light. The aspects of being and doing are completely interdependent. That means they cannot exist without each other. Whatever you are “Being” in your life causes “Doing” in your life, and the “Doing” in your life causes “Being” in your life. It is only in the doing that one becomes and because you are being that light you cannot help but do and because you are doing you become and round and round it goes.

    Here are a few examples of “Being and Doing” that may give you more ideas of how this works and how it is expressed as your unique light.

    Calling All Angels!

    When I found myself on my knees in my office crying profusely, it became crystal clear that something needed to change, and it needed to change now.  Completely out of control, I knew only an extremely quick and effective solution could get me out of this mess!

    When it came to living a balanced life, I’d hit my personal rock bottom. I found myself crying everyday from sheer exhaustion. Working non-stop, I hadn’t taken a day off in a very long time. My career mentors–the people I looked up to in my business–were telling me to work even harder and devote even more hours to achieve the level of success I desired.

    At the time I didn’t realize I was allowing other people to dictate how I ran my life and my business. I went from a basically happy person to an emotional and overworked wreck. I spiraled out of control trying to achieve my business vision and didn’t know how to change my totally crazy workaholic behavior. This was not how I envisioned my life as an entrepreneur!

    As I knelt on my office floor, I did the only thing I knew how to do–pray for an answer. I’d tried to change my out of balance life and out of control behavior on my own and nothing I did worked. It became obvious at that moment that I needed assistance to achieve my desired state of balance. At the least, I would certainly have to do some things differently. I didn’t know where to begin. Out of desperation, I looked for answers from a higher source….

    From Heaven Above

    Within a few days of my request for spiritual intervention, a friend who didn’t know what was happening shared with me that she learned how to change her life by increasing the divine help she was getting from above. Immediately, I wanted to know more.

    Robin asked if I’d ever thought about hiring angels to help me create the life I desired. She’d just read a book called Hiring the Heavens by Jean Slatter that spoke of the many “unemployed angels” with specific talents and skills ready and willing to help those of us here on Earth. I simply needed to ask for their help, she explained.

    “It’s very simple,” Robin told me. “For example, if you need computer help, you simply request an angel with computer skills to handle the challenge! If you misplace a ring, hire a spiritual detective angel to ensure that you find it.”

    Wow, it sounded so simple! I realized quickly I needed to hire my angels and tell them what I wanted. I could use them for one task, to put together a specific business-building team, or to handle family obligations. Well, I thought, at this point in my life I’ve got nothing to lose—I might as well give it a try! 

    Though I considered myself a spiritual person, I’d never actively or consistently sought out the help of angels. At the time, I believed in the existence of angels—kind of–so figured I had nothing to lose. Immediately I began to hire away, and the results astounded me! For example, my dear friend Carol was getting married outdoors in the California hills, surrounded by beautiful red oak trees. The weather forecaster had predicted a full day of rain, and indeed there was a torrential downpour outside.

    I couldn’t let this happen to Carol, so I said “I need a Perfect Weather Angel right now to clear the rain and bring out the sun! Carol deserves a beautiful wedding day!” Within in five minutes of my request the rain stopped completely and the skies became crystal clear and a beautiful shade of light blue. Thanks to the angels, my dear friend had the most glorious outdoor wedding imaginable!  At one point, just as she and her husband were saying their beautiful vows, we even saw the sun and the moon in the sky. From that moment on, I requested angelic help all the way through the next day–we never saw another drop of rain or cloud in the sky!

    My angels created much magic in my life as well. Since starting my own business in 2004, I’d carried the weight of the world on my shoulders. I believed the success of my business was determined by how hard I was willing to work and the amount of hours I was willing to put in. That often meant working sixty to seventy hours a week and taking very little time off. If I continued that way, I knew over time I’d risk my health and physical well being.

    From the moment I hired my first angel onto my angelic business-building team, I no longer felt alone. Immediately, help seemed available to me 24/7, and no task or challenge proved too big to handle. Since then I’ve employed on my business-building team a “Prosperity and Abundance Creator,” “Priceless Personal Assistant Angel,” “Master Marketing Angel,” “Positive People Plus Attitude Monitor Angel,” and many more!

    As a result, new business opportunities popped up in the most unexpected and miraculous of ways. People began to ask questions and make positive comments.

    “I see your business photo and name everywhere,” said one. “What are you doing?”

    “How is your business growing so quickly?” queried others. Because the power of angels is meant to be shared (anyone can gain access to them), I was more than happy to explain how to hire angels to create incredible business growth to anyone open to this concept.

    The Creation Of Joy

    I’d lost my love for life for quite some time and replaced it with the concept that hard work was more important. Now seriously out of balance, my angels enabled me to reconnect with my sheer joy for life. With them on my side, I no longer felt like I was completely disconnected from my feelings of joy. These angelic helpers simply required that I was willing to help them create what I like to call “magical, miraculous, and magnificent” results in my life.

    Once I learned to ask for specific help, I began to see the angels’ quickness and resourcefulness in my life. Implementing steps that I still utilize today, I opened my mind and my mouth to ask for specific help and didn’t wait until I was desperate. I know now that angels are not limited by the timing of a request, nor does it matter how big or small the task–my angels have proven to me consistently that they are willing to help me anytime, anywhere, and in anyway.

    After I ask for help, I express gratitude. For me, real gratitude means celebrating the small changes that lead to abundant successes. Personally, I like to break out into a happy dance when I receive the spiritual support I’ve requested. When driving, I talk to my angels and love to give them spiritual high fives! Any time something wonderful happens in my life, I make sure to say: “Thank you, angels!”

    Finally, I had to learn to have fun again and to let go in the process. That meant I had to stop trying to control everything and start looking for more ways to create joyous opportunities in my life. It became very apparent that the more fun I had in my life, the easier and quicker my angels were able to help me.

    At times, when I’d begin to fall back into my old pattern of not asking for help and of trying to do everything on my own I’d call on my “Ease, Grace, and Fun Angel,” a.k.a. “Grace,” and yell out “Grace, I need your help! I’m doing it again! I don’t know how to let go and have fun!” Each time I asked “Grace” to intervene, a new understanding and ease overcame me and eventually the overworked and out of balance person I used to be disappeared. As a result, my business thrives with a lot less effort on my part…

    Counting My Blessings

    The day my friend Robin told me about the angels was the day I discovered how to once again have real fun and experience true joy. My angels set my spirit soaring and allowed me to reach a new level of ease I never thought possible. Now I envision new possibilities that I could never have created on my own with only human effort. The opportunities before me are truly limitless. My angels know no restrictions–they support, help, and love me at all times. Whatever I need, my angels answer all requests and ensure that each and every outcome is in my highest and best interests.

    Little did I know how simple it could be! Finding a permanent and continuous path to absolute joy and fun in my life was simply a matter of calling all angels…

There are some very fuzzy and ambiguous thoughts around what the Soul is. When I asked my Higher Guidance about the Soul I received a very interesting answer.

    The Soul is actually a unique individuated aspect of God specifically created to explore a thought form. Stay with me as we clarify more about this and you’ll see why it’s important to know about your Soul.

    God is All That Is and in order for God to have an experience there had to be the creation of a something other than All That Is for a point of reference. This idea is discussed at length in the book Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsch.

    For the purpose of experiencing, Souls are “created” as an individuated and unique aspect of God.     Know your simple purpose

    The Creative Mystic in all of us screams the question, “What is my purpose?”  It’s an ageless question and I suspect it will be asked to eons to come. The reason this question seems to perplex us is because it is actually several different questions that ask us to identify our “reasons” to exist. There is the worldly question of what my job should be or what direction my relationship should take. And then there’s the larger soul question of why I exist at all. I certainly cannot give you your specific answers; only you and your Higher Guidance can provide those. I can tell you, however, that ultimately we all have a common purpose and it is surprisingly simple:

    Your purpose is to shine your unique Light.

    It’s a dream world

    Have you ever had a dream that was so incredibly rich with feeling and emotion that it actually seemed real?

    I love it when I dream. Some of my dreams have provided logical answers about issues I have had in my waking life and some have been extraordinary fantasies that don’t seem to be grounded in any reality I know of.  I have even had the experience of being aware that while I was dreaming a vivid dream, I was both sleeping and watching my dream at the same time.

    Many people believe that dreams are just a brilliant fabrication of our consciousness.  Yet what if there are parts of ourselves that are actually having legitimate dream time experiences?  It’s fascinating to consider, don’t you think?  All we know for certain about our dream state is that we don’t physically go anywhere.  Everything is happening in the mind.

    Dream World

    Could it be possible that all of life is a dream within the Mind of God?  Shamans use this analogy and say that what we term real life is actually a dream. Quantum physicists believe this is closer to the truth of reality. A wonderful book to read on this subject is The Field by Lynne McTaggart. This book along with many others is showing that everything is energy and that our illusion of matter is being played out on a multidimensional screen called the “field”.

    I believe that we are Creators of experience and our opportunity to create is carried out in the unlimited, unbounded consciousness of God. Any experience that the mind of God can imagine is being brought to life. There have been no limits to what can be explored nor could/should there be. The boundless dream world in the mind of God is running non-stop from the beginning of time to infinity.  If it exists in this reality it is because the mind of God dreamed it.

    Our Opportunity to Create

    Imagine what fun it would be to design and create your dreams before you drifted off to sleep each night.  Where would you like to go?  What would you like to be?  What emotions would you like to feel?  The possibilities are endless.  You can sail the high seas as a one-eyed pirate or rob a bank and get away with it.  It would be as if a genie gave you a special power to safely experience any adventure or drama that you would like to create.

    Forgotten it’s a Dream

    But here is the conundrum:  It’s hard to fully experience what it’s like to be chased by a tiger when you know that it isn’t ‘real’.  The tiger is an illusion.  Who you are in the dream is an illusion.  And soon enough the real you will wake up and discover that none of it actually happened.  So, the question is:  how can you make it “real” to yourself?

    Well clever you! Turns out you thought of a way to “forget” so that you can be totally enmeshed in the experience. You have fallen asleep to who you really are on purpose so that you can be fully engaged in the illusion. Thus, the dream will seem very real indeed. This is how, I believe, that we are able to have innumerable lifetimes and yet not remember them.

    Life is certainly entertaining, isn’t it?

    Is it possible that all of our experiences are being carried out in the imagination/mind/dreams of an infinite being? Understanding how all of this happens has been pondered by the most brilliant of minds of science and poets throughout history and we whereas we may think we have come up with some plausible explanations we may also find out in the end that we haven’t a clue.

    I am not sure if you remember me, but I came to you as a patient in your practice 11 years ago, after my first son Joseph was born. I came to you at a time in my life where I was married to an emotionally abusive partner and I did not see it, or I was not ready to acknowledge it and leave. I remember you recommended The Dark Side of the Light Chasers for my Dad, which ended up being a book that came back into my life again and was the catalyst to me actually beginning my emotional healing journey. Also at the time you asked me once what the “gift” of my husband’s alcoholism was, which was a question I could not answer and resented for a couple of years, until the one day I could finally answer it, and then catapulted me to ending the relationship peacefully and truly forgiving him.

    I wanted to give you an update now that my son is about to have his 12th birthday in August. The arthritis you were trying to help me correct through nutrition and supplements went away instantly once I left my abusive marriage. Also an body odor issue I struggled with as well. I joined a Unity Church which is where I healed my spiritual beliefs that were poisoning me. I then attended school for Hypnotherapy with therapeutic techniques designed to empower people and allow them to tap into and utilize their internal wisdom. I am now married to an amazing partner, and have a blended family and my sons are growing into such inspirational, strong, wise young men it gives me such gratitude and faith.

    Recently I had a new client who told me that she used to see a Naturopathic doctor for stress relief, and when I asked her for the name, she said Jean Slatter. I told her you were my inspiration to start my career in Holistic Health. I realized I wanted to thank you for the contribution you made to my life when I was young, vulnerable, and self-destructive. Thank you so much for the contribution you made to my life.

    Another Great Hiring the Heavens testimonial!

    Hi Jean,

    Just last week I heard your interview on the energized today online event. I loved it and bought the Kindle version the next day. I put it right to work and had results the first day.

    I hired an expert auto salesperson as my son started working at a car dealership just out of college, and he hadn’t sold one yet, and I didn’t want him to get discouraged. He sold his first vehicle that night. I also sent one to my other son because he is trying to start a business and had some powersports items, like a motorcycle, four wheeler, etc., and he was getting really stressed. I talked to him yesterday, and he had traded a motorcycle for a boat and said for a few weeks nothing and then he starting getting a bunch of calls. I asked what day it was and he said Thursday.

    I have a bathroom vanity to sell too that I had posted a buy and sell site on FB a few weeks ago. Nothing. So I said oh yeah, and I need a buyer for that, and a few hours later someone sends me an email and wants it.

    I have such an active life that I am making a bunch of committees for all of the aspects of my life.

    Just last night I was at the library and I was looking for a particular book, couldn’t find it. Went to the library catalog and the web was down on that computer. I thought it was the only one. Went back to the same area where it should have been and nothing. I just said, help me find this book. Kind of gave up, and was leaving only to see another computer with the library catalog. Sure enough they have it. I go back and look and couldn’t see it. I said another help me find that book, bam, there it was. I say thank you.

    I have specialist hired for many different areas and situations. I hire them to help many others too as needed.

    The biggest testimony so far, though, is the Sleep Magic Specialist that I hired. I have had the most incredible sleep. The first night I just asked for a Sleep specialist to help me get a deep, peaceful, well rested sleep. I slept so good. Then I added a dream specialist and dream interpreter and dream recall specialist, to help me remember what I need to from my dreams. I have some pretty fun dreams while I am getting a deep sleep. I also hired a life purpose/career coach and I always ask to show me things in my dreams. The other night I did my nightly thing and added the life purpose to it. I was deep in a dream and I heard a ding on my phone it seemed loud because it woke me up. And usually I put it on silent to sleep, so I was surprised that I heard it ding. I checked my phone and it was someone that I used to work with and my former boss was trying to get a hold of me about a job opportunity. I am in the middle of career change and was this a coincidence? I don’t think so.

    Now I go to bed and I say out loud, Sleep Magic do your thing. I love sleeping now, it is such an awesome sleep.

    Hiring the Heavens is an easy concept. I think the biggest thing is to just believe. I just ask for patience, and when I start sweating the small stuff I say, take it away and get your job done.

    I have employed the help of angels many times but never thought of the idea of specialist. It has brought back a childlike faith that is playful and fun. It feels like life is an adventure and nothing is impossible, there is a specialist for assistance for anything we want to do.
